Upgrade - the new Gault Millau has been published
In its latest edition, the famous French restaurant guide "Gault Millau" praises Karl-Emil Kuntz for his brilliantly composed dishes full of inner harmony. The guide awards him 18 out of 20 possible points, standing for "the highest level of creativity and best possible preparation". Thus, Karl-Emil Kuntz has been selected among the best chefs in Germany for yet another year.
Vinegar doctor
At the nearby village of Venningen, not far from Herxheim, gourmets find a true sour paradise. At the "Doktorenhof", vinegar doctor Heinrich Georg Wiedemann – the Palatinates call him "Schorsch" – applies for vinegar for over 20 years already. Own vineyards are the cadre of the manufacturing of noble vinegars, whereas the word "manufacture" needs to be taken literally. From the nature-orientated cultivation of the basic wines over the cautious development of the vinegars to the filling, corking, binging, waxing and careful packing in hand blown glass bottles and flacons "Schorsch" cares for his precious vinegars. Moreover, you get (almost) everything a vinegar-loving heart desires. Besides noble appetizing and digestive creations, medical plant vinegars and basis vinegars for the daily use you will also find jams, mustards, pralines and coffee here. And even the paintings on the walls derive from the vinegar doctor; painted with oil colours, prepared and diluted with vinegar.
