The world is our guest

"It was wonderful"
says George W. Bush

On the occasion of a lunch given by former Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder and his wife, Doris Schröder-Köpf, in honour of their excellencies, the President of the United States of America, Mr. George W. Bush, and his wife Laura Bush, on the 23rd of February 2005, Karl-Emil Kuntz created the following menu:

We are extremely happy that we had the opportunity to offer the former Chancellor and his guests a delightful afternoon and wish to thank the President of the United States from the bottom of our hearts for the compliment he paid to us.

Duck for the Federal President

Distinguished visitors from Berlin graced our house on the afternoon of the 9th of March 2005. The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Horst Köhler, and his wife Eva Luise Köhler were treated to an overture consisting of a phantasy of Palatinate duck with goose liver on an apple confit base and a touch of Szechuan pepper. This was followed by a potpourri of turbot, river pikeperch and scallop with a mild curry cappuccino and beetroot. The main course consisted of fine suckled veal with steamed leek strips in spring morel creme and stuffed galette of Hayna potatoes. The crowning glory to this menu was a dessert composition of chocolate and rhubarb with luke-warm manjori tartlets and the fine patisserie de maison.

Impressions of the kitchen party 2005

Karl-Emil Kuntz invites guests into his kitchen. These have included prominent personalities such as Kurt Beck, the Minsterpräsident (Governor) of the Rheinland Palatinate, or the leader singer of the pop group PUR, Hartmut Engler. They all studied the Chef de Cuisine while he worked, and did not shy away from lending a hand themselves.

Not a standard situation this: Hans-Peter Briegel as the Chef de Cuisine's taster

Palatinate teamwork with Ministerpräsident Kurt Beck, who demonstrated that he knows a thing or two about cooking.

Cross-federal way of life in the Southwest

In line with the meeting of the federal states of Baden-Wuerttemberg and Palatinate, the prime ministers, Günther Öttinger and Kurt Beck, enjoyed lunch at the Krone restaurant.
